Thursday, May 6th 2010 saw the Transition Year students from Beech Hill College, along with some First Year College singers, perform “Beauty is the Beast” in the Garage Theatre in Monaghan. This amusing story was portrayed with flair by the students who lacked nothing in enthusiasm, energy and indeed professionalism.
Initially staged in the college for 5th and 6th class primary school pupils earlier in the Spring the cast felt that they were ready to expose themselves to a wider audience and give their parents and friends a chance to see their budding, and often previously hidden, talent.

The production was directed by Ms. McNerney of the English Department and Ms. Daly of the Music Department and apart from those on stage many students gained valuable experience of set design and other aspects of stagecraft. All involved were agreed that both performances were a huge success.
